Handheld Librarian V Online Conference Expands to Include Virtual Expo

The Handheld Librarian V Online Conference (HHLV) announced this year's conference will feature a Virtual Expo Hall and will showcase vendors in virtual booths who support librarians as they navigate the new world of digital publishing.
NEW YORK, NY-- The Handheld Librarian V Online Conference (HHLV) -- a global online professional networking and learning event for librarians produced by LearningTimes, now in its third year -- announced this year's conference will feature a Virtual Expo Hall and will showcase vendors in virtual booths who support librarians as they navigate the new world of digital publishing.

Day one of the Handheld Librarian V Online Conference, July 27, 2011, features professional development presentations for librarians by librarians. This is the grass-roots nature of our highly successful program. HHLV will build on the success of prior conferences in which an array of presenters share their experiences and insights on topics addressing themes such as eBooks, location-based social networking, lending devices, reference and mobile technologies impacting society. Christina Warren of Mashable will present the live, online keynote address on day one of the conference, sharing her insights in the fast changing world of digital technologies.

John Walber, CEO of LearningTimes, emphasizes the convenience of participating in an online conference event. "Unlike a traditional in-person conference, our HHLV online event allows participants to attend without leaving their offices and experience firsthand the benefits of zero travel costs, improved productivity, networking, collaboration and so much more."

Day Two of the HHLV will feature a Virtual "Expo" of live presentations by companies and organizations providing mobile products and services for libraries. Visitors will be able to stop by virtual booths from companies such as Boopsie, Innovative Interfaces Inc, Tutor.com, Novare, Bibliofiche and Evanced, and visit in real-time in an informal setting with representatives from each company. Visitors will also be able to hear a keynote by Peter Booth Wiley, Chairman of the Board of John Wiley & Sons, as he shares his forward-looking thoughts regarding the evolving world of book publishing.

Registration for HHLV is open and includes access to the online community, all live events, the keynotes, all event recordings, materials and online discussions for one year. For more information or to register, please visit: www.handheldlibrarian.org/
